Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) UPDATE - (Published 4:00pm March 12)

(En Español)

 Hello and God Bless You,

On Wednesday, March 11th, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak as a pandemic. We want you to know that the pastors and leaders at El Santuario care about your safety and health and we are doing everything we can to maintain a healthy and clean environment during all of our services on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings.

Here are some personal preparation steps that have been recommended by the CDC and other medical health organizations that we should follow.

  • Sneeze and cough to the inside of your elbow.
  • Wash your hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds.
  • Carry hand sanitizer and use it after touching public surfaces.
  • Avoid handshakes.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • The CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including Covid-19. Masks should be used by people who show symptoms of Covid-19 to help prevent spread of the disease to others.

Thanks to modern technology and the labor of love by our wonderful audio / video volunteers, if you are feeling sick (coughing, sneezing, fever, etc), you are able to stay home recovering while watching our services online. The best place to find all needed links is on our website at http://www.elsantuariobx.org

What are the most common symptoms of Covid-19?

  • Muscle aches
  • Loss of energy and appetite
  • Persistent cough
  • Low grade fever lasting 24 hours or more, causing the person to feel feverish with chills

To determine if you or a family member should stay home or seek medical care based on presenting symptoms, consider the following guidelines also provided health care professionals:

  • If you have a cold without fever, you should stay at home until well. Medical care is likely not needed, as is standard practice with most colds.
  • If you have flu-like symptoms without respiratory distress, Virtual Urgent Care should be used (if and where available).
  • If you have a fever and shortness of breath, you should visit an Emergency Room, ideally wearing a surgical face mask.

We respect and value each person that visits us which is why our staff is actively and thoroughly disinfecting all public surfaces at the church before and after each service to maintain a clean and healthy worship space for us all.

Further, if Self-Quarantine is recommended by a physician or medical professional, we ask that you follow all CDC, DOH, and WHO recommendations. http://www.cdc.gov has updated recommendations and guidelines regarding Self-Quarantine, Travel and Personal Hygiene.

If you, or someone in your household has any of the Covid -19 symptoms, we urge you to seek medical attention as described above or recommended by a physician.

Philippians 4:6-7 (New Living Translation)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
